2017 Langtry Genevieve Chardonnay

2017 Langtry Genevieve Chardonnay

The Genevieve Chardonnay is a round, creamy white wine, which is sourced from the Genevieve Vineyard located in the heart of Guenoc Valley.

WE 90 Points: This bold wine tastes ripe, flooding the mouth with rich and broad butterscotch and butter-pastry flavors. So ripe and creamy that it seems sweet, the wine is full bodied and leaves a lingering butterscotch finish. —J.G. Wine Enthusiast – Oct. 2021

Wine Profile

Tasting Notes
The 2017 Langtry Chardonnay hails from the picturesque ten acre Genevieve Vineyard, which sits in the heart of Guenoc Valley. The result of many years of research, the small cluster Dijon clones 76 and 96, proved to show exceptional wines. The nose displays enticing aromas of Golden delicious apple, rose petals and vanilla. Soft on the entry, there is a creamy texture and the balanced acidity shows off the complex Honeycrisp apple, vanilla, cinnamon and pastry dough.
Vineyard Notes
This ten acre, valley floor Chardonnay block sits a quarter mile east of the Langtry house on fairly shallow, gravelly clay loam soils with high magnesium and low nutrient content that limits vine vigor and crop levels. Very cool nights allow for excellent acidity and rich, fully mature fruit with abundant flavor and character.
